Sustainability

As one of Arizona State University’s six Innovation Zones, ASU Research Park supports the efforts of ASU’s sustainability programs. The Research Park has implemented several water-saving features, including timed irrigation, light controls and timers for its exterior landscape. The facility managers for the buildings in the Park have implemented several operational practices to ensure the buildings take advantage of the newest sustainability practices, these include: EMS, recycling, solar energy, LED lighting upgrades, automobile charging stations, energy efficient HVAC systems, lighting sensors, upgraded low E glass and a general practice of conservation and energy efficient building.

In addition to the efforts put forth by the Park tenants and management, AdvancED (previously North Central Association) is LEED BD+C: New Construction v2 – LEED 2.1 Gold Certified.

Recreation. The ASU Research Park is one of the most highly improved office parks in the greater Phoenix area. The 320-acre Research Park offers its corporations a professional business environment, with mature landscaping and three lakes covering eighteen surface acres. Recreation facilities include over six miles of surfaced jogging trails and picnic ramadas.

Transportation. The Park is also strategically located adjacent to major transportation corridors, including full diamond interchanges off Loop 101 at the north (Elliot Road) and south (Warner Road) entrances to the Park. Its central location in the Southeast Valley also affords access to an abundant and educated workforce, and provides easy 15-minute access to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.  City bus service is also available to the ASU campus, downtown Tempe and Scottsdale.

  • Regional or national headquarters of the lessee or its subsidiaries that are engaged in research or development or education activities.
  • Laboratories, offices and other facilities for testing, consulting, and information processing related to research and development.
  • Education and training facilities.
  • Production, assembly or sale of products pursuant to research and development activities.
  • Pilot plants in which processes planned for use in production elsewhere can be tested and assembled.
  • Operations required to maintain or support any permitted use, including maintenance shops, power plants, waste water treatment facilities, the keeping of animals, machine shops, common area improvements and facilities, and professional and commercial services supporting permitted uses, such as child development centers, food services and post office and mailing centers.
